| Penerangan CU | Safety equipment such as life boat (survival craft, escape capsule) and fire water pump are equipped with electrical system. The life boats are used during evacuation and embarkation during emergency. There are electrical related components in the life boat for starting the life boat, air circulation, communication and lighting system. Fire water pump on the other hand is designed with automatic start control system and batter bank to run continuously during emergency during actual fire fighting. The maintenance performed on the safety equipment will ensure the fitness of the safety equipment at all times to evacuate the platform and haul the passengers to a safe place during an emergency and to ensure that the equipment is always ready and on a standby mode to respond to emergency situations at all times. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify safety equipment maintenance requirements, perform safety equipment electrical system visual and physical inspection, perform safety equipment electrical system routine service, perform safety equipment electrical system functionality test and report activities /findings/ defect/damage parts identified. The outcome of this competency is to service and upkeep safety equipment electrical system according to company standard operating procedure to ensure efficiency of equipment at all times.
