| Penerangan CU | Anchor handling operation is a process in which anchor is either deployed on to sea bed or recovered by using system as per end user requirement. The person who is competent in anchor handling will be able to identify and prepare the requirements for specific anchor handling job ranging from the safety aspects, processes in use, tools and equipment before deploying and/or retrieving anchor with specified system and clear the deck after the processes in accordance with safe working practices. The person must be able to recognize requirements for specific job during pre-mob meeting, supervise on site, prepare for anchor handling operation, deploy and recover anchor using buoy system, supervise the perform activities during deployment and recovery of anchor using permanent chaser system and to clear the deck for the next assignment. The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure that anchor is deployed and recovered in a safely manner in accordance with end user requirement. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure personnel is able to assist the master and coordinate the activities on deck during deployment and retrieval of anchor in a safe manner in accordance to the anchor plan. In particular the trainees will be able to: 1. Plan anchor handling operation 2. Prepare anchor handling operation requirements 3. Coordinate the receipt of anchor from the rig/ barge (buoy system) 4. Coordinate the lowering of anchor to the specific location(buoy system) 5. Coordinate the recovery of anchor (buoy system) 6. Coordinate the deployment and recovery of anchor using Permanent Chaser system 7. Confirm the deck are clear and returning tools and equipments ( if on board) to the rig/barge |
