| Penerangan CU | Perform Advocacy Activities describes the competencies required to promote awareness, rights, and inclusion of the Deaf community through structured advocacy efforts. This CU covers the ability to design and implement Deaf awareness programmes, conduct JBIM awareness activities, and engage in lobbying with relevant stakeholders such as government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), service providers, and the public. It emphasises advocacy as a professional responsibility to strengthen recognition of Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM), ensure accessibility, and influence policies that support equal opportunities for the Deaf community. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to carry out Deaf awareness program, carry out JBIM awareness program and lobby potential stakeholders. The outcome of this CU is the ability to organise advocacy programmes with clear objectives through strategic stakeholder engagement and collaborative efforts with the aim to drive positive transformation towards inclusivity in organisational or community level. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to demonstrate continuous professional development through verified participation in JBIM professional meetings, engagement in Deaf-led community activities, and documented attendance in professional upskilling programmes. Measurable evidence such as attendance records, reflective summaries, peer or supervisor verification, and CPD logs confirms the interpreter’s ongoing improvement in professional practice, ethical conduct, and cultural competence. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to: 1. Participate periodic JBIM meeting. 2. Participate Deaf-led event. 3. Participate professional upskilling event. |
