| Penerangan CU | Perform JBIM Interpreting Services describes the competencies required to deliver accurate and effective Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM) interpreting across different communication modes and contexts. This includes real-time interpretation between text and BIM, translation from BIM into text, interpreting from source spoken language into BIM, and interpreting from BIM into target spoken language. The CU highlights linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, ethical conduct, and the ability to adapt interpreting strategies according to setting, audience, and communicative intent. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to carry out interpretation text-to-BIM, carry out BIM-to-text translation, carry out source spoken language-to-BIM interpretation and carry out BIM-to-target spoken language interpretation. The outcome of this CU is the ability to deliver Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM) interpreting services that facilitate effective, accurate and culturally appropriate communication between Deaf and hearing communities, while adhering to the professional code of ethics and promoting accessibility and inclusivity across professional and social domains. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to deliver Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM) interpreting services that facilitate effective, accurate and culturally appropriate communication between Deaf and hearing communities, while adhering to the professional code of ethics and promoting accessibility and inclusivity across professional and social domains. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to: 1. Carry out text-to-BIM interpretation. 2. Carry out BIM-to-text translation. 3. Carry out source spoken language-to-BIM interpretation. 4. Carry out BIM-to-target spoken language interpretation. |
