| Penerangan CU | Perform gear and shafting system maintenance describes the competency in performing maintenance, inspection and repair work on marine propulsion gearboxes, reduction gears, thrust blocks, intermediate shafts, propeller shafts, bearings, couplings, seals, and associated alignment and vibration monitoring systems installed onboard ships. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to maintain marine gearbox, maintain thrust and intermediate bearing, maintain stern tube, maintain marine propeller, maintain steering gear, maintain marine rudder and align shafting. The outcome of this CU is gear and shafting systems operate reliably and efficiently, transmitting power smoothly without abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, oil leaks, or operational defects and perform within manufacturer’s specifications. |
