| Penerangan CU | Perform lorry crane lifting operation describes the competency required to position the vehicle, deploy stabilisers, operate articulating or telescopic loader booms, and handle loads safely at short radius in kerbside, yard, and site environments. The scope covers proximity hazard management in urban spaces, team communication, correct use of load-holding and control functions, and load securing for transport handover in accordance with site rules for road-to-site interface, safety regulations, the lifting plan, and manufacturer manuals. Operators of lorry cranes are required to hold a valid Competent Driving Licence (CDL) of the appropriate class and a Goods Driving Licence (GDL), in compliance with Road Transport Department (RTD) requirements. The crane types covered under this competency are the Articulating (Knuckle-Boom) Lorry Crane and the Telescopic Straight-Boom Lorry Crane. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to inspect lorry crane physical condition, position lorry crane at lifting location, deploy lorry crane outriggers, execute boom and lifting sequence and carry out lorry crane post-lifting operation. The outcome of this CU is lorry crane operated to lift, set down and hand overloads safely and accurately at short radius, with vehicle positioning, stabiliser deployment, boom operation and post-operation securing conducted in accordance with lifting plans, site rules for road-to-site interface and manufacturer operating standards. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to perform lorry crane lifting operation ensuring proper inspection, safe positioning, controlled lifting sequence, and post-operation handling in accordance with lifting plan, manufacturer’s manual, and safe working procedures (SWP). Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to: 1. Inspect lorry crane physical condition. 2. Position lorry crane at lifting location. 3. Deploy lorry crane outriggers. 4. Execute boom and lifting sequence. 5. Carry out lorry crane post-lifting operation. |
