| Penerangan CU | Perform escalator and walkalator inspection describes to the examination of newly installed or periodically maintained escalators and walkalator, conducted at site by a Competent Person Grade 1 or Grade 2 together with a DOSH Officer. The inspection is carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure safety compliance, and the process concludes with the issuance of a Certificate of Fitness. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to prepare escalator and walkalator inspection requirement, perform escalator and walkalator component inspection, perform escalator and walkalator building interface inspection and produce escalator and walkalator inspection outcome result report. The outcome of this CU is the tangible assurance of public safety and consistent operational reliability, evidenced by a reduction in accidents, maximized uptime, successful Certificate of Fitness renewals, and the observable flawless functioning of all safety components. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to perform a comprehensive inspection of escalator and walkalator ensuring their compliance with statutory requirements, safety regulations and standards. This includes the ability to prepare all necessary inspection requirements, examination the equipment's components and its interface with the building, produce an report detailing the inspection's outcome and facilitate the successful issuance of a Certificate of Fitness. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to: 1. Prepare escalator and walkalator inspection requirement. 2. Perform escalator and walkalator component inspection. 3. Perform escalator and walkalator building interface inspection. 4. Produce escalator and walkalator inspection outcome result report. |
