| Penerangan CU | Perform confined space equipment preparation describes the competency to prepare and verify all essential equipment required for safe confined space work. It includes preparing and inspecting personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency and rescue equipment and work-specific tools or devices to ensure that they are serviceable, suitable for the task and compliant with safety standards. Competent preparation is a critical prerequisite to mitigate risks such as exposure to toxic gases, physical injury, entrapment, or failure in emergency response. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to prepare confined space personal protective equipment (PPE), prepare confined space emergency equipment and monitor confined space work equipment preparation. The outcome of this CU is systematic preparation, inspection and verification of all personal, emergency and operational equipment necessary for safe confined space work. This competency ensures readiness for both routine and emergency situations, supporting the overall goal of maintaining safety and regulatory compliance throughout confined space operations in accordance with Malaysia’s Industry Code of Practice for Safe Working in Confined Space 2010 (ICOP CS 2010), Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) guidelines and recognized best practices in confined space operations. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to prepare confined space personal protective equipment (PPE), prepare confined space emergency equipment and monitor confined space work equipment preparation in accordance with legal and best practice requirements, ensuring systematic preparation, inspection and verification of all personal, emergency and operational equipment necessary for safe confined space work. This competency ensures readiness for both routine and emergency situations, supporting the overall goal of maintaining safety and regulatory compliance throughout confined space operations in accordance with Malaysia’s ICOP CS 2010, DOSH guidelines and recognized best practices in confined space operations. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to: 1. Prepare confined space personal protective equipment (PPE). 2. Prepare confined space emergency equipment. 3. Monitor confined space work equipment. |
