Penerangan CUSupervise confined space hazard control and isolation describes the competency to oversee and verify the complete isolation and cleaning of a confined space, ensuring that all potential sources of hazards whether physical, chemical, or energy-related are neutralized prior to any entry. The supervision must ensure full compliance with confined space entry protocols, including energy control procedures (Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)), chemical decontamination and hazard mitigation.

The person who is competent in this CU should be able to monitor confined space area isolation, monitor confined space material isolation, monitor confined space energy isolation, monitor confined space initial cleaning and monitor confined space ventilation work.

The outcome of this CU is full readiness of both administrative and physical safe entry into confined spaces. This is crucial in avoiding incidents related to atmospheric hazards, engulfment, or rescue failure and ensures compliance with confined space regulations and standards in accordance with Malaysia’s Industry Code of Practice for Safe Working in Confined Space 2010 (ICOP CS 2010) as per latest amendment, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) guidelines and recognized best practices in confined space operations.

Objektif PembelajaranThe learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to monitor confined space area isolation, material isolation, energy isolation, initial cleaning and ventilation work in accordance with legal and best practice requirements, ensuring full administrative and physical readiness for safe entry into confined spaces. This includes the
prevention of incidents related to atmospheric hazards, engulfment and rescue failure and ensures compliance with Malaysia’s Industry Code of Practice for Safe Working in Confined Space 2010 (ICOP CS 2010) as per latest amendment, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) guidelines and recognized confined space operational standards.

Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to:
1. Monitor confined space area isolation.
2. Monitor confined space material isolation.
3. Monitor confined space energy isolation.
4. Monitor confined space initial cleaning.
5. Monitor confined space ventilation work
