| Penerangan CU | Perform Pulse Echo Shear Wave testing describes non-destructive testing (NDT) method that utilizes high-frequency ultrasonic waves (typically 0.5 to 25 MHz) to evaluate internal structures, detect flaws, and measure material thickness. Ultrasonic waves are introduced into a test specimen via a transducer, and their interactions with internal features are analysed to assess material integrity. Ultrasonic inspection offers high sensitivity, deep penetration, and precise flaw characterization. However, it requires skilled operators, careful surface preparation, and may encounter limitations in coarse-grained or highly attenuate materials. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to prepare Pulse-Echo Wave testing works, conduct Pulse-Echo Wave testing, analyse Pulse-Echo Wave testing result and carry out Pulse-Echo Wave testing post inspection works. The outcome of this CU is a thorough assessment of the internal integrity of materials or structures, which enables the detection of internal flaws and identification of discontinuities that could affect the performance or safety of the material. This process provides critical data for evaluating the material's condition, helping to determine whether it meets specified standards, if repairs are needed, or if it’s suitable for continued use. The results contribute to making informed decisions in quality control and maintenance planning. Additionally, the UT operation ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards by detecting potential issues early and minimizing risks associated with undetected internal damage. |
