It is conducted during initial deployments, after major updates or periodically as part of routine maintenance. This testing is essential to safeguard sensitive data, prevent breaches and ensure compliance with security standards. Typically performed by IT security professionals or database administrators it involves using tools like vulnerability scanners and penetration testing techniques to detect risks such as SQL injection, weak access controls or unpatched systems. Findings are analysed, prioritised and addressed to enhance database security. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to plan database security testing activities, conduct database security testing and produce database security test reports The outcome of this CU is enhanced database security and integrity. |
