| Penerangan CU | Perform SAW 1G butt welding describes the competency in semi-automatic or automatic submerged arc welding of thick sections of base metal, where the workpiece is submerged under a layer of powdered flux creating a protective shield especially in applications such as shipbuilding, structural steel fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, and pipeline construction. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to carry out SAW 1G welding requirements preparation, carry out SAW 1G welding and carry out SAW 1G visual inspection. The outcome of this CU is high deposition rates and throughput, deep penetration capabilities, excellent weld quality, and the potential for simple automation in accordance with code and standards. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to perform SAW process in 1G butt weld according to approved Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and work instruction.
