Penerangan CUThe high-end instrumentation analysis describes the competency in analysing test sample using advanced analytical instrumentation.

A competent person in this CU shall be able to analyse sample using Transmission Electron Microscope examination, analyse sample using Scanning Electron Microscope examination, analyse sample using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry derivatisation technique, analyse sample using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry head-space technique, analyse sample using Liquid Chromatograph Tandem Mass Spectrometer, analyse sample using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optimal Emission Spectrometer, analyse sample using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer, analyse sample using X-Ray Fluorescence and analyse sample using X-Ray Diffractometer.

The outcome of this competency is to ensure that the analysis is effectively conducted using high-end instrument in accordance with laboratory standard procedure.

Objektif PembelajaranThe person who is competent in this CU shall be able to ensure that the analysis is effectively conducted using high-end instrumentation in accordance with the laboratory standard procedures. Upon completion of this competency units, trainees will be able to:- 1. Analyse sample using Transmission Electron Microscope Examination (TEM). 2. Analyse sample using Scanning Electron Microscope Examination (SEM). 3. Analyse sample using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) derivatisation technique. 4. Analyse sample using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) head-space technique. 5. Analyse sample using Liquid Chromatograph Tandem Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS). 6. Analyse sample using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optimal Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES). 7. Analyse sample using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS). 8. Analyse sample using X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF) – quantification approach. 9. Analyse sample using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD).
