| Penerangan CU | Welding Material Preparation is a series of activities performed by a welder to prepare, organize and perform material cutting process of welding base materials (ferrous and non-ferrous metals) according to work instruction. Preparing metal for welding is a very important step in the welding work activity. If the base metal is not prepared properly, it compromises on the integrity of the welds themselves. The good preparation of the base metal is the pre-requisite for quality welds. The welding material preparation mainly includes sawing process, oxy-acetylene cutting process and plasma cutting process. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that materials are cut to dimension and prepared for welding process effectively and safely, as per work instruction requirement. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to plan and preparebase metal material for welding process such as carbon steel or stainless steel material.
