| Penerangan CU | Sludge handling operation describes the competency required to periodically remove solids that are collected and settled out of the water by sedimentation and filtration to drying lagoons. Sludge, which accumulates at the bottom of sedimentation basins, must be removed to prevent interference with the settling, prevent the sludge from becoming septic and prevent excessive reduction of detention time. He/She oversees the sludge treatment process and assists in the disposal and the recycling of the sludge treatment by products. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to determine sludge handling requirement, prepare sludge handling equipment, carry out sludge dewatering, carry out sludge cake disposal arrangement, carry out effluent water testing and produce sludge and disposal report The outcome of this competency is to ensure the handling of sludge activities is conducted in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and removed to a designated disposal area in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Department of Environment (DOE) regulations. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU should be able to oversee the sludge treatment process and assist in the disposal and the recycling of the sludge treatment by products.
