| Penerangan CU | Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation describes the competencies to operate the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine in order to take over the function of the heart and lungs during surgery. The person who is competent in this CU should be able to set up extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine, perform circuit priming, perform pre-ECMO checklist, conduct ECMO procedure, troubleshoot ECMO related problems and decontaminate ECMO machine. The outcome of this CU is competent use of the ECMO machine to successfully take over the function of the heart and lungs during surgery in compliance with institutional protocol and safety requirements. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcome of this competency unit is trainees will be able to operate the ECMO machine to successfully take over the function of the heart and lungs during cardiac surgery in compliance with institutional protocol and safety requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to: 1. Set up Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) machine. 2. Perform circuit priming. 3. Perform pre-ECMO checklist. 4. Conduct extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) procedure. 5. Troubleshoot ECMO related problems. 6. Decontaminate ECMO machine. |
