The person who is competent in this CU should be able to set up heart-lung machine, perform circuit priming, perform pre-bypass checklist, perform cardiopulmonary bypass, troubleshoot cardiopulmonary bypass related problems, and decontaminate heart-lung machine. The outcome of this CU is competent operation of the heart-lung machine to successfully take over the function of the heart and lungs during cardiac surgery in compliance with institutional protocol and safety requirements. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The learning outcome of this competency unit is trainees will able to operate the heart-lung machine to successfully take over the function of the heart and lungs during cardiac surgery in compliance with institutional protocol and safety requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to: 1. Set up heart-lung machine. 2. Perform circuit priming. 3. Perform pre-bypass checklist. 4. Perform cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). 5. Troubleshoot cardio-pulmonary bypass (CPB) related problems. 6. Decontaminate heart-lung machine. |
