| Penerangan CU | The Competency Unit (CU) of Aeroplane piston system maintenance is developed based on Air Transport Association (ATA) System Chapter 100. The relevant chapters under ATA 100 are the following: - Chapter 72(R) (Engine) (Reciprocating/ Piston) Aeroplane piston system maintenance is to maintain Aeroplane piston system in accordance with the requirement of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCAM) and other regulatory bodies. The personnel who are competent in air Aeroplane craft piston system maintenance shall be able to identify, plan, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, modify, test, overhaul, record and certify piston systems to meet continuous airworthiness standards. The outcome of this competency is to develop competent manpower in accordance with company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and job description. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | Aeroplane piston maintenance is to maintain aeroplane piston system (with limited release approval) in accordance with the requirement of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCAM) and other regulatory bodies such as European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). The personnel who are competent in aeroplane piston maintenance shall be able to:- • Identify aeroplane piston system components • Plan aeroplane piston system maintenance activities • Inspect aeroplane piston system component • Troubleshoot aeroplane piston system component • Repair aeroplane piston system component • Replace aeroplane piston system component • Modify aeroplane piston system component • Test aeroplane piston system component • Overhaul aeroplane piston system |
