| Penerangan CU | The VTIS Watchkeeping refers to marine traffic monitoring and controlling system established by harbour or port authorities according to pilotage requirement and harbour operation. The person who is competent in VTIS Watchkeeping shall be able to perform handling / taking over duty, monitor current and updated chart information, execute collision regulations, monitor navigational aids functionality, synchronise ship board terminology, monitor port operation requirement and update handing / taking over duty log book. The outcome of this competency is to ensure the knowledge of personnel at each VTS centre, based on the services to be provided, the equipment available and the coordination needed with other organisations and departments according to company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The personnel who will be competent in this competency must in prior have the following competencies:- Competence knowledge, understanding and proficiency to enable the operator to use charts, publications and regulations; to understand meteorological, water way, port management and safety information and to communicate with other ship, shore facilities and agencies. Including the ability to use and understand the standard marine navigational vocabulary according to the standard marine communication phrases. |
