| Penerangan CU | Refrigerant is a substance used in refrigerator to enhance efficiency of reversible phase transition from a liquid. Most of the refrigerants are ozone depleting that can cause global warming. Refrigerant Retrofit and Emission Control aims to reduce refrigerant emission from the refrigeration appliances through proper retrofitting. The person who is competent in Refrigerant Retrofitting and Emission Control shall be able to analyse system refrigerant requirements, plan refrigerant retrofitting and emission control, implement refrigerant retrofitting and emission work, execute refrigerant oil retrofitting works, carry out disposal works and produce refrigerant retrofitting and emission control report. In addition, the person who is competent in this CU is complied with The Environmental Quality (Refrigerant Management) Act Regulation 1999 The outcome of this CU is to discharge refrigerant (gas and oil) from the refrigeration system to comply the Environmental Quality (Refrigerant Management) Regulation 1999 The personnel who are to be trained for this competency must in prior have the following competencies: i. Competence in CU 1: Domestic Refrigeration Installation and maintenance |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to discharge refrigerant (gas and oil) from the refrigeration system in accordance with The Environmental Quality (Refrigerant Management) Regulation 1999. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to: • Plan refrigerant retrofitting and emission control • Carry out refrigerant retrofitting and emission • Execute refrigerant oil retrofitting works • Carry out disposal works • Produce refrigerant retrofitting and emission control report |
