| Penerangan CU | Pre-casting material preparation supervision is a competency of planning, organizing, leading and controlling of resources to achieve all materials preparation objectives prior to the casting process in accordance with customer and or organization standard & requirements. Japan International Standard, American Foundry Society, British Standards, ASTMD7765, MS303, MS505 are among the popular standard used) Effective supervision is important as the materials preparation process affects the production process and foundry end product quality. The person who is competent in pre-casting materials preparation supervision will be able to perform pre-casting preparation planning, perform pre-casting materials preparation resources allocation, perform operation briefing, monitor pre-casting materials preparation, establish current pre-casting preparation operation performance status, and handle materials preparation operation performance problem in accordance with organizations and or customer requirements. An effective pre-casting materials preparation supervisor should be able to plan, organize, lead and control the production team to accomplish all assigned tasks and achieve the specified objectives as required by the organization. He should ensure that all resources are correctly allocated and team members leaded toward goals achievement. His performance should be measured based on the pre-determined measurable objective assigned at the beginning of the performance appraisal period. In order to reach the pre-casting material preparation specified objective, he lead his team in ensuring the incoming materials inspected using appropriate tools and equipment, confirming materials mechanical & chemical properties, weighting material accurately, compiling certificate of approval and recording incoming materials inspection, preparing casting ingredient with the right raw material usage ratio and quantity, and performing sand mixing in complying with the specified formula, confirming that sand are dried, and proper moisture content and size, correctly packaging mixed sand, tagged and producing proper record. The outcome of this CU is to meet occupational skills standard which incorporate the skills, knowledge and attitude to be delivered systematically. |
