| Penerangan CU | Mechanical transmission troubleshooting and overhaul describes the competencies required for maintenance work such as troubleshooting to find the cause of problems or abnormalities and overhauling of gear box and shaft alignment. Transmission system is an assembly of parts including the gear box and drive shafts by which power is transmitted from a prime mover to the driven. Overhaul requires dismantling and stripping off the machinery or equipment in order to examine its components and repair/ replace it if necessary. This activity requires the service of skilled technicians. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify mechanical system transmission system troubleshooting and overhaul requirements, perform mechanical transmission system troubleshooting and overhaul, perform functionality test and update maintenance logbook. The outcome of this competency is to ensure reliable and smooth running of transmission system by restoring performance to ‘as new’ condition |
