| Penerangan CU | Fire & gas leak is high risk to the offshore operation. Therefore any leak is detected by several types of sensors, and control fire protection to respond, contain and fight fire instantly and immediately. Fire & gas detection is the device used to monitor the gas leakage and fire. The type and number of the detection, protection and fighting devices depend on the type of equipment and size of the fire area and is different for e.g. process areas, electrical rooms and accommodations. Upon the detection of the leakage and fire, the emergency shutdown process will respond and shutdown the plant immediately. The fire & gas will initiate an audio and visual alarm to alert the personnel on board of the emergency situation. The fire & gas system and emergency shutdown is maintained to avoid all incidents and accidents and mainly to safeguard life. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify fire & gas detection equipment maintenance requirements, perform fire & gas detection equipment visual and physical inspection, perform fire & gas detection equipment routine service, perform fire & gas detection equipment functionality test and prepare maintenance report. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that plant is operated safely, eliminating all the risk associated with fire & gas leak. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The trainee who is competent in this CU shall be able to repair, service and upkeep fire & gas detection system and emergency shutdown (ESD) system according to company standard operating procedure to ensure efficiency of equipment at all times. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to :- 1. Identify fire & gas detection system and ESD maintenance requirements. 2. Perform fire & gas detection system and ESD visual and physical inspection. 3. Perform fire & gas detection system and ESD routine service. 4. Perform fire & gas detection system and ESD functionality test. 5. Report maintenance activities and findings. |
