| Penerangan CU | A large volume of compressed air is required for the control of pneumatic valves and actuators, tools and purging of cabinets. It is produced by electrically driven screw compressors. The compressed air is further treated to be free of particles, oil and water. via a dryer or desiccant (Celica Gel) in order to finally be treated as instrument air. This instrument air is used to operate dedicated instrument component of the process system. Instrument air need to be free from water vapour so that it would not blocked the air flow of the component and reduce corrosion to the metal parts. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to identify air supply system component maintenance requirements, perform air supply system component visual and physical inspection, perform air supply system component routine service, perform air supply system component functionality test and prepare maintenance report. The outcome of this competency is to ensure the instrument air to be used is totally dry. The maintenance of the air supply system is to ensure that this entire instrument which operated by instrument air is trouble free and will not cause unnecessary upset to the process. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The trainee who is competent in this CU shall be able to repair, service and upkeep air supply system according to company standard operating procedure to ensure efficiency of equipment at all times. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to :- 1. Identify air supply system maintenance requirements. 2. Perform air supply system visual and physical inspection. 3. Perform air supply system routine service. 4. Perform air supply system functionality test. 5. Prepare maintenance report |
