| Penerangan CU | Surface coating testing refers to the process of measuring the strength and detecting coating imperfections (such as discontinuity or holidays). This CU covers the various types of test methods that can be performed to assess the performance of surface coating. The person who is competent in this CU will be able to identify coating testing requirements, conduct holiday test at low voltage and high voltage, conduct pull-off adhesion test, cross cut test, and oven test for interior and exterior service coating. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that coating strength and quality complies with international blasting & coating standards and client requirements. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform surface coating tests in accordance with standard blasting and coating practices and legislative requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify blasting & coating testing requirements • Conduct holiday / pin hole detection / spark test test at low voltage • Conduct holiday / pin hole detection / spark test at high voltage • Conduct pull-off adhesion test ISO 4624 • Cross-Cut test (for coating thickness < 200 micron) |
