| Penerangan CU | Surface preparation pre-blasting inspection refers to inspection of the initial substrate prior to blasting process. The substrate surface physical condition, rust grades and weld seams are checked to ensure compliance with specified blasting & coating standards The person who is competent in this CU will be able to identify surface preparation inspection requirements, inspect substrate material type, substrate physical condition, rust grade and welding seam surface. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that surface preparation and quality comply with international blasting and coating standards and client requirements. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to perform surface preparation pre-blasting inspection in accordance with standard blasting and coating practices and legislative requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify steel surface preparation inspection requirements • Inspect material type (ferrous and non-ferrous material) • Inspect material physical condition • Inspect rust grade • Inspect welding seam surface |
