Penerangan CUThe CU title describes the competency in Tug Shipboard Management. This unique method of ship operation stimulates the officers’ interest and involvement in their own vessel, ensures optimal maintenance and high technical standards and, in the long run, lowers overall costs. He or She must be able to conduct Shipboard Management.

The person who is competent in this CU shall be able identify shipboard management requirement, analyse regulatory requirement perform handing/taking over duties, monitor economical running and maintenance of tugboat, monitor navigation equipment working condition, monitor crew list, certification and assessment, organise petty cash management, provide crew muster list, Monitor daily and monthly log books, provide crew work roster, monitor all tanks capacity (sounding), monitor all communication equipments in good operating condition, monitor Life Savings Appliances (LSA) and Fire Fighting Appliances (FFA), monitor all decks machineries in good operating condition and monitor Remaining Onboard (ROB) and spares, submit report to relevant authority and interested party.

The outcome of this competency is to develop the Tug Master in Shipboard Management And Operation in accordance with Port/Employer expectation, best practices, SOLAS requirement and IMO Manila Labour Convention 2006.

Objektif PembelajaranThe person who is competent in this CU shall be able to develop the Tug Master in Shipboard Management
And Operation in accordance with Port / Employer expectation, best practices, SOLAS requirement and IMO Manila
Labour Convention 2006. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees should be able to:
· Identify shipboard management requirement
· Analyse regulatory requirement
· Perform handing/taking over duties
· Monitor economical running and maintenance of tugboat
· Monitor navigational equipment working condition in order
· Monitor crew list, certification and assessment
· Organise petty cash management
· Provide crew muster list
· Monitor daily and monthly log books
· Provide crew work roster
· Monitor all tanks capacity (sounding)
· Monitor all communication equipments in good operating condition
· Monitor life savings appliances (LSA) and fire fighting appliances (FFA) update
· Monitor all decks machineries in good operating condition
· Monitor remaining on board (ROB) and spares
· Submit report to relevant authority and interested party
