| Penerangan CU | Ship assembly is a process of joining and welding all of the steel components to form the hull and the superstructure of the ship. The skills involve activities to mark, cut, tack weld, fabricate and erect in accordance with ship construction specification. The person who is competent in ship assembly shall be able to prepare ship assembly requirements, perform keel laying and girder installation, perform longitudinal and transverse frame installation, perform longitudinal and transverse bulkhead installation, perform main deck installation, perform bottom plate installation, perform side shell assembly installation, perform tank staircase/vertical ladder fitting, perform deck house installation, perform wheelhouse / bridge installation and prepare work completion report in accordance with ship construction drawing. The outcome of this competency is to ensure that ship assembly process will make the ship vibration free, sea-worthy and function in accordance with ship construction specification. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The outcome of this competency is to ensure that ship assembly process will make the ship vibration free, sea-worthy and function in accordance with ship construction specification. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Prepare ship assembly requirements; • Perform keel laying and girder installation; • Perform longitudinal and transverse frame installation; • Perform longitudinal and transverse bulkhead installation; • Perform main deck installation; • Perform bottom plate installation; • Perform side shell assembly; • Perform tank staircase/ vertical ladder fitting; • Perform deck house installation; • Perform wheelhouse/ bridge installation; and • Prepare work completion report. |
