| Penerangan CU | Anchor handling is a process in which spread moor anchors are deployed on to sea bed for station keeping purpose in order to allow the rig or barge to carry out their operations offshore and eventually recovered upon completion of the work. The person who is competent in anchor handling will be able to identify, prepare and execute the specific anchor handling job emphasising the safety aspects, industry good practices, specific tools and equipment. The person must be able to recognize the requirements for specific job during pre-mob meeting, supervise on site, prepare for anchor handling operation, deploy and recover anchor using buoy system, supervise the perform activities during deployment and recovery of anchor using permanent chaser system and to clear the deck for the next assignment. The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure that anchors are deployed and recovered in a safe manner in accordance with good industry standards. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure personnel designated with the responsibility of overseeing the entire anchor handling operation onboard the OSV is able to deploy and retrieve anchor in a safely manner. In particular the personnel concerned is able to: 1. Discuss anchor plan during charterer pre-mob meeting 2. Conduct tool box meeting 3. Manage anchor handling operation preparation 4. Manoeuvre vessel for receipt of anchor from the rig/ barge (buoy system) 5. Manoeuvre vessel towards designated anchor drop point 6. Manage anchor lowering to intended drop point 7. Manoeuvre vessel on recovery of anchor (buoy system) 8. Manoeuvre vessel during deployment of anchor using Permanent Chaser system 9. Manoeuvre vessel for recovery of anchor using PCP 10. Manage after job deck clearing |
