| Penerangan CU | Towing Operation is a process in which OSV is deployed to move a mobile floating unit to/from a specified location to an assigned location pre-determined by the charterer. The person who is competent to be in charge of the towing operation shall be able to identify and prepare the requirements as indicated in the towing procedures which may include the identification of potential hazards, safety aspects, tools and equipment before deploying and/or executing the towing operation with specified tow configuration in accordance with safe working practices. The person must be able to recognize requirements specific to the job during pre-mob meetings, provide supervision on site deploy and recover the towing line safely. The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure that the towing operation is carried out safely and in full compliance with industry practices and in accordance with end user requirements and specifications. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The outcome of this competency unit is to ensure that the personnel is able to supervise and oversee the various work activities on board the vessel during towing operation and to ensure that all tasks are performed safely and effectively in accordance to the agreed tow plan. In particular the trainees will be able to: 1. Coordinate tow plan during charterer pre-job meeting 2. Plan the requirement for the towing operation during toolbox meeting 3. Supervise the preparation for the towing operation prior to receiving the tow line 4. Coordinate deck for receiving of tow 5. Coordinate the lookout of the towed mobile floating unit during departure 6. Supervise the delivery of tow and disconnecting of the towed facility |
