| Penerangan CU | The CU title describes the competency in western wedding dress making. Examples of western wedding dress attire are such as wedding dresses or gown, strapless, sleeveless gowns, in part because such dresses require less skill from the designers and are easier to alter to fit correctly. Brides were therefore expected to dress in a manner that cast their families in the most favorable light and befitted their social status, for they were not representing only themselves during the ceremony. Brides from wealthy families often wore rich colours and exclusive fabrics. It was common to see wearing bold colours and layers of furs, velvet and silk. Brides dressed in the height of current fashion, with the richest materials money could buy. The amount and the price of material a wedding dress contained was a reflection of the bride's social standing and indicated the extent of the family's wealth to wedding guests. The personnel who are competent in this competency unit shall be able to interpret customer requirements, differentiates and match the machine, auxiliary equipment and materials to be used and confirm production western wedding dress making setup correctly, execute production activities and produce western wedding dress product as per process requirements. The outcome of this competency is to produce a western wedding dress from the take measurement from customer body, drafting paper pattern, cut fabric from the paper pattern layout, sewing and assemble the western wedding dress parts, fitting and finishing western wedding dress as per customer specifications. All products are produced in accordance with standard operating procedure, customer and product specifications. |
