Penerangan CURobotic Mechanical System Design describes the competency in preparing mechanical system design for robotic system based on determined project specification.

A competent person in this CU shall be able to identify mechanical system design specification requirements, prepare 3D layout drawing, carry out safety fencing & devices mounting design, carry out robot base design, carry out end effector design, carry out jigs and fixtures design, carry out material handling equipment design, carry out transmission equipment design, carry out additional axis equipment design, prepare assembly drawing and prepare mechanical component report.

The outcome of this competency is the ability to produce design for robot mechanical system in accordance with its purpose of built and project specification.
