| Penerangan CU | This competency unit describes the skills, knowledge and an attitude requirement in autoclave operation delivers heat and steam under pressure to decontaminate or sterilize instruments. The correct care and handling of autoclave sterilizer cycle is applied. The purpose of sterilization processing is to inactivate the microbiological contaminants and thereby transform the non-sterile items into sterile ones. The person who is competent in moist heat sterilization process shall be able to identify autoclave machine, select autoclave machine, clean autoclave machine, carryout sterilization efficiency test, load non sterile items/ packs/ set/ containers for sterilization, carryout sterilization process, unload sterile products and Cool sterilized product in cooling area. The outcome of this competency is to ensure autoclave operation sterilization process is conducted safely using set procedures, to inactivate the microbiological contaminants and thereby transforming the non-sterile items into sterile ones and prompt action is taken according to Industry Standards, regulatory requirements and technical specification. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to ensure autoclave operation sterilization process is conducted effectively using set procedures by manufacturers and to inactivate the microbiological contaminants and thereby transforming the non-sterile items into sterile ones and prompt action is taken according to Industry Standards, regulatory requirements and technical specification. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to :- 1. Identify autoclave machine. 2. Select autoclave machine. 3. Clean autoclave machine. 4. Carryout sterilization efficiency test. 5. Load non sterile items/ packs/ set/ containers for sterilization. 6. Carryout sterilization process. 7. Unload sterile products. 8. Cool sterilized product in cooling area. . |
