It refers to a variety of operations beyond generation and transmission that are required to maintain grid stability and security. These services generally include frequency control, spinning reserves and operating reserves. A competent person in this CU shall be able to carry out small hydro ancillary maintenance work preparation, carry out pest control activities, carry out access road maintenance, carry out plant housekeeping, carry out clearing of transmission line and fiber optic cable right of way (ROW) and carry out pipeline route maintenance The outcome of this competency is to ensure efficient operation of small hydro intake ancillary that meet the power generation requirement, guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedure. |
