| Penerangan CU | Microalgae up scaling and mass production is a scope of competency to upscale and mass produce the microalgae. The microalgae will be transferred into another container which is bigger from the previous one as to increase the numbers of microalgae culture. The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to prepare microalgae up scaling materials, check cell density in pure culture, transfer starter culture to new culture medium and monitor microalgae growth according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The outcome of this competency is to increase the numbers of microalgae culture either for stock preparation, live feed or mass production. |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to enable sustainable microalgae biomass culture and production in accordance with operational standard operating procedures. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Prepare microalgae mass culture requirement • Assess equipment functionality • Assess materials, medium and chemicals availability • Monitor microalgae mass culture • Maintain microalgae mass culture |
