Penerangan CUThe switching services troubleshooting describe the competency required when troubleshooting switching services.

He or she is the person to carry out switching services troubleshooting on site or remote access (operation center) when the users report on unscheduled connection problems such as connection stability, disconnection or connection quality.

The person who is competent in switching services troubleshooting shall be able to analyse switching services troubleshooting requirements, plan switching services troubleshooting activities preparation, perform switch troubleshooting, perform Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) troubleshooting, perform Virtual Trunking Protocol (VTP) troubleshooting, conduct switching services interconnection assessment and report switching services troubleshooting activities.

The outcome of this competency is to produce skilled workforce whish is able to understand the working structure of a switch and troubleshoot it in accordance with troubleshooting activities given, organisational requirements and standard operating procedures.

Objektif Pembelajaran The person who is competent in this CU shall be able to troubleshoot switching services while ensuring the switching services in accordance with the given plan and design of the network infrastructure. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:-
1. Analyse switching services troubleshooting requirements
2. Prepare switching services troubleshooting environment
3. Perform switch troubleshooting
4. Perform Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) troubleshooting
5. Perform Virtual Trunking Protocol (VTP) troubleshooting
6. Conduct switching services interconnection assessment
7. Report switching services troubleshooting activities
